solos - filling a space and owning a space...
everyone's initial reaction is to do - to fill up the space but to do may not necessarily be the right thing to do.
a solo can be thought of as a recognition of necessity as oppose to sound producing action.
own the space
even if it means you don't do anything.
a solo is a question of authority, self discipline, recognition of limitations of technique.
